10/11/06           Food For The Soul – Where Is God ?

There’s an old saying in business. There are three factors to consider for a successful
business.  1. Location  2. location 3. location.

God has placed deep inside me the burning desire to see lost souls come to His son Jesus
Christ.    2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.

I want to share “my touch” from God this morning with you. This photo was copied from
the website www.matthew10.com .

I received a link from Pastor Micah Pelkey, of Citichurch in Mansfield, Ohio, to this
website, recording in it’s journal, his recent 8-day trip to India.

You can go to the website to view the photo’s and journal, but I want to use this time to
give you a “peek” at what God put on my heart this morning.

I did not go on this trip, but have one scheduled in the spring to the Philippines, and God
willing, to India later in the year. I have been communicating with a pastor in India, and
along with Rev. Scott Keith of Fire From Heaven Ministries, have been trying to find help
for a 10 yr. old orphan girl who needs a heart-valve surgery over there.

What’s my point? My point is, when I looked at this photo this morning my eyes filled with
tears, and even now as I type, because I see thousands of human beings, eager to hear of
the savior that met me at the alter 42 years ago. People “running” to the alter to ask him
into their hearts. 80,000 people cramming into, and many willing to stand in the back for
the service.

It all brings to my mind, the padded pews, saved seats, conversations with friends during
the presentation of God’s word, “I don’t want to go” attitudes on Sunday morning, having
to park nearly half a block from the church, being so comfortable as to fall asleep during
the message, getting mad at the pastor because he “somehow” knows what you’ve been
doing and preached on it this morning, and last but certainly not least, staggering through
life like an alcoholic on a weekend binge without including God in our lives until some
devastating disaster like a death in the family or the sudden report of “cancer” from the
family doctor.

I wonder how many people actually read this far. Friends, God is willing, and perfectly able
to guide you through any and all of your problems, big or small. When Jesus returned to
his hometown, the bible says he couldn’t do many miracles because of the unbelief that
was there. When he raised the little girl from the dead, he first scattered all the people
who “laughed him to scorn” and the only ones allowed in the house were those who
believed and trusted him.

I see too much apathy in Americans today who want to treat God like a set of car keys,
only reaching for him when they have no other form of “transportation” to get them
where “they want to go.” Now hear this… when you get where you want to go, God is
already there waiting on you. He doesn’t require your presence to work out his will in any
location. He has empty vessels that are willing to travel to bring his message to a lost and
dying world.

The way I see it, God gave all, and most of us give as little as possible. Jesus Christ loves
you today. He is willing to use you right where you are. There are people around you that
are overworked because they are doing jobs that they’re not called to do, because those
who were called to do them, refused to answer the call because they might have to
sacrifice some of their valuable time.

There were thousands of changed lives in India last week. How many do you think there
were in America?

God bless you as you search his word today,
Rev. Larry
