Genesis 1:26-28

26 ¶ And
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let
them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon
the earth.
27  So
God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.
28  And
God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and
subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the
sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the
earth.

In verse 26, God, speaking to the triune Godhead, (1. Himself, His
Son , and the Holy Ghost
) created Man in His "image" after His
"likeness".
God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must do so in
Spirit and in truth.

The way "spirits" get things done is by speaking them. What
God said ...Was!

In Titus chapter one, verse 2, the bible tells us that God cannot
lie... therefore... when God says something... it "becomes"
truth. This is the
power of confession ...

A
Law is something that, will reproduce itself, time and time
again, in the same manner... every time.

A good example is the Law of Gravity. If I drop a pencil from a
certain height, scientific calculations will tell me how fast that
pencil will fall, and precisely how long it will take before it
reaches the ground, which by the way, is also part of that law...
it will always fall down... never up!

God said in Isaiah 55:11,  "So shall my word be that goeth
forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it
shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the
thing whereto I sent it."

When we, Man ... (a spirit, housed in a human body and
clothed in a soul) speak a word, it is birthed into the universe,
and goes forth to accomplish whatsoever is said.

When
we, (Christians...Saints of God saved by the blood of Jesus
for the remission of sins, created in the image and likeness of God,
and given authority to speak in His name
) speak "what God
speaks", or speak God's word over our situation, the law of
confession will accomplish what God says.

It's the law. When God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the
earth, he left it in "our hands" to subdue it, and replenish it.
When we speak what God says over a situation, His word,
spoken with authority and belief, takes authority and is
manifest in that situation.
